What materials are commonly used in chocolate packaging design?

Due to the characteristics of chocolate itself, it is required to meet the requirements of anti-moisture absorption and melting, anti-aroma escape, anti-grease and rancidity, anti-pollution, anti-heat, and other requirements during packaging. Therefore, the requirements for chocolate packaging materials are very strict, not only to ensure the aesthetics of the packaging but also to meet the above packaging requirements. So what are the main chocolate packaging materials commonly used on the market?

1. Paper product packaging.

Paper products are highly environmentally friendly and are generally used for the outer packaging of chocolates. The outer packaging is in a cardboard box to prevent damage to the chocolate.Chocolate paper packaging box materials include coated paper, white cardboard, gray board paper, cardboard paper and corrugated paper. Some water-resistant, oil-resistant, acid-resistant,deodorizing wafer paper and other high-value-added functional papers are gradually increasing in use, which will become a bright spot that paper packaging companies pay extra attention to.

2. Aluminum foil packaging.

Aluminum foil has the character istics of being moisture-proof,light-proof and heat-retaining. Whether it is the inner packaging of chocolate or the outer packaging, the shadow of aluminum foil can often be seen. In general, aluminum foil is mainly used as the inner packaging for chocolate. Chocolate is a food that melts easily, and aluminum foil is very effective at keeping its surface from melting.

3. Tin foil packaging.

This is a type of traditional packaging material. Because of its good barrier and ductility, it has always occupied a place in the current chocolate packaging. However, it isaffected by factors suchas the production process, production efficiency, application limitations and price.Additionally, plastics and other packaging materials affect it.

4. Plastic flexible packaging.

Plastic packaging has gradually become one of the most significant packaging materials for chocolate due to its rich functions and various forms of presentation. With the maturity of technology, cold-seal soft packaging has gradually become the most important inner part of chocolate due to its advantages of high packaging speed, low odor, no pollution, easy tearing, etc., and can meet the requirements of avoiding the influence of high temperature in the chocolate packaging process. The development direction of plastic packaging at the laters tages focuses on improving the performance of existing plastics, developing new varieties, and improving strength and barrier properties.

5. Compositematerial for packaging.

Composite materials have a variety of material physical properties and obvious protection and display capabilities. They are easy to obtain materials, easy to process, have strong material layers, and low consumption. They gradually became a popular packaging material for chocolate and candy. Most of the composite materials are based on flexible packaging. At present, the most commonly used materials are paper-plastic composite, aluminum-plastic material, and paper-aluminum composite. The inner packaging is compounded with PET and aluminum foil to maintain the luster, fragrance and shape of theproduct. This will prevent moisture and oxidation, prolong shelf life and protect product performance.

These are common packaging design materials for chocolate. According to the different packaging styles, there is also container packaging on the market, which can be made of metal materials or combined with composite materials. No matter what kind of packaging material, itis used to protect chocolate products, improve product hygiene and safety, and enhance the desire to buy. Therefore, when choosing chocolate packaging materials, it is necessary to do a comprehensive investigation to choose the packaging materials suitable for your products.
